Wetlands Header 3.5

Ashtead Rye Meadows made the decision it will not be represented at Village Day in September. Subsequently this event was cancelled, and we look forward to attending the 2021 event.

Other events like Heritage Week in September have been similarly threatened but we have just learned that this will still be going ahead. Rye Meadows will still particpate in this event and all the fields will be fully open from 10am until 4pm each day. On the middle Sunday (13th September) the Volunteers will be in attendance to host guided walks through the fields and be on hand with leaflets and our merchandise of mugs and tea towels. The sales of these form an essentail boost to our coffers. The attendance by volunteers very much depends on two factors; firstly the then ruling guidelines from the Government, and secondly the availability of volunteers. Sadly we are all "of an age" and presently fall into the "vulnerable" category. Others have been shielding to protect other family members. Each volunteer will need to make their own decision on whether they wish to attend or not.

This of course does mean we miss out on opportunities to sell our merchadise and raise funds from donations and anyone keen to buy our mugs or tea towels can still do so by contacting us by email on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or leaving a message on 07802 221898. If you wanted to make a donation - all amounts are welcome, large or small - please also contact us and we can provide bank or address details. Unfortunately, gates and fences still need to be mended, trees and bushes trimmed, the brook cleared of debris and litter and there is a cost involved in all this. Funds are still very much needed.

Buying stuff online during lockdown and want to make a donation that costs you nothing at all? Then follow this link. You still buy your stuff but give money as well for FREE! Feel virtuous without it costing you.
