The Rye Meadows Team at the Awards with Angela Swarbrick, Chair of Trustees of Surrey Wildlife Trust
Community Champions Award
Surrey Wildlife Trust hosted the Community Champions Award at West Horsley Place on Thursday 3rd August 2023. The Friends of Ashtead Rye Meadows Wetlands was short-listed as one of three finalists in the "Rising Star" category.
Although this time we did not win, to be one of three short-listed finalists amongst very worthy competition was itself an achievement to be immensely proud of.
We were presented with a Certificate showing us as one of the finalists and the picture opposite shows those attending together with Angela Swarbrick, Chair of the Trustees of Surrey Wildlife Trust. It was Angela who presented the Awards on the night.
